Universal Instruments Manufacturing Company Private Limited started in 1971 by Late Mr.J.M.Toshniwal, is a Bangalore, India based small scale industry registered with Dept of Medium, Small & Micro Enterprises of Govt.of India. First product was DC Regulated Power Supply. Gradually other products were introduced. In 1973 battery charger for substation & power plants and electroplating rectifiers were introduced.

Since then Battery chargers & distribution boards have been installed in India & 23 countries in Asia & Africa, in Hydro / Solar / Wind  power plants, Steam Turbine power plants co-generation power plants etc. Substations of petroleum refineries, steel mills, cement factories and industrial & commercial buildings, Unmanned offshore oil platforms, offshore process platform, gas pipelines...
